Magnesium Ingots are gray-white, lightweight metals with a purity of 99.9% minimum. Magnesium has the lowest melting (923 K or 1,202°F) and boiling points (1,363 K or 1,994°F) of all the alkaline earth metals. Pure magnesium is brittle and easily fractures along shear bands but becomes much more ductile when alloyed with small amounts of other metals, such as 1% aluminum.

  • Used in the production of magnesium alloys

  • Applied in chemical and military industries

  • Utilized in meter instrument manufacturing

  • Serves as a reducing agent to separate uranium and other metals from their salts

  • Used as a sacrificial (galvanic) anode to protect boats, underground tanks, pipelines, buried structures, and water heaters

  • Alloyed with zinc to produce the zinc sheet used in photoengraving plates in the printing industry, dry-cell battery walls, and roofing

  • Principal use as an alloying additive to aluminum, with these aluminum-magnesium alloys being used mainly for beverage cans, sports equipment such as golf clubs, fishing reels, and archery bows and arrows
