Ferro Tungsten

Ferro Tungsten is an alloy of iron and tungsten. It is frequently used in steelmaking to introduce tungsten into alloys, which enhances hardness, strength, wear resistance, and high-temperature performance.

Specifications:
• W Content: typically 60-75%
• Size / Form: lumps, granules, or briquettes (e.g. 5-50 mm)
• Other elements: small amounts of carbon, silicon, and residual iron permitted

  • Description
  • Additional Information
  • Applications

Ferro Tungsten is used to impart tungsten's beneficial properties into steel and alloys. Its addition enhances wear resistance, hardness, creep strength, and stability under high temperatures. Because tungsten is costly and difficult to process, ferro tungsten provides a practical route to incorporate tungsten in alloy systems.

  • Improves hardness and wear resistance

  • Enhances high-temperature strength and creep resistance

  • Boosts alloy toughness and stability

  • Useful for tool steels and high-performance alloys
