Ferro Niobium

Ferro Niobium is an alloy of iron and niobium, typically containing 60 % or more niobium. It is chiefly used as an alloying element in high-strength low alloy (HSLA) steels to enhance strength, weldability, corrosion resistance, and performance at elevated temperatures.

Specifications:
• Nb Content: ≥ 60 % (typical 60-70 %)
• Form: Lumps, granules, or briquettes (2 mm to 50 mm)
• Size Range: ~10 mm to 100 mm (or per customer requirement)
• Packaging: Bags, steel drums, or as agreed

  • Description
  • Additional Information
  • Applications

Ferro Niobium is essential in modern metallurgy for increasing the strength and toughness of steels. By adding ferro niobium, steel components gain improved resistance to corrosion, better weldability, and enhanced performance in high-temperature environments. It’s especially effective in HSLA (high-strength low-alloy) steels used in automotive, structural, and pipe applications.

  • Enhances yield strength and ductility

  • Improves corrosion resistance and creep strength

  • Aids weldability and toughness

  • Useful in complex alloy systems and superalloys
